IN LOVING MEMORY
“Beauty exists not in what is seen and remembered, but in what is felt and never forgotten.”
– Jonathan Jena
The River City family has suffered two losses recently, Board Member Joe Diaz Jr., and Executive Administrative Assistant Michelle Coats. They both made a significant impact on the credit union and will be sorely missed.
“We are very sad and broken-hearted in knowing that Joe and Michelle are no longer with us” said Jeff Ivey, President/CEO. “I worked with Joe during Board meetings and on his frequent visits to the office and will miss those interactions very much. As for Michelle, I am having a difficult time thinking of what our office will be like without her. She did so many things for us, and I am going to miss her immensely. Please join with us in celebrating their lives and in keeping their families close at this difficult time.”
Joe Diaz, Jr. a retired, 28-year employee of AT&T Inc. (formerly SBC) had been a member of the RCFCU Board of Directors since 2002 and was affiliated with River City since 1975. He was deeply committed to the credit union and his priority was to for us to do all we could in support of our members.
His cowboy hat became an icon that roamed our halls and put a smile on our face. He will be deeply missed.
It was her daily disposition to have a big smile on her face that seemed to spread on everyone she saw. She not only brought a ray of positivity to the office but was always more than willing to lend a helping hand. The credit union was truly blessed to have someone as positive and upbeat as Michelle.
Michelle served our members, employees, and Board of Directors in countless ways. Her absence will be felt for a long time.
