As partners in the community, we care about the success of our members, local businesses and community organizations and want to help them manage their finances no matter where they are on their financial journeys. At each of our locations, online or over the phone, we embrace our Juntos Avanzamos designation. Meaning “together we advance”, the Juntos Avanzamos designation recognizes credit unions committed to serving and empowering the Hispanic community. This includes our immigrant community as well. River City FCU is committed to providing safe, affordable financial services and products to everyone, regardless of citizenship status. At River City FCU, we are focused on supporting communities that have been historically underserved and are financially vulnerable.

In August 2016, River City FCU was certified by the U.S. Department of the Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). CDFIs are mission-driven financial institutions that are dedicated to providing financial services to meet the needs of economically disadvantaged individuals within underserved communities. CDFIs invest in the these individuals by providing critically needed financial services often unavailable from other financial institutions. As a CDFI, River City FCU is recognized for having a primary mission of promoting community development, serving an underserved market, and providing appropriate financial products and services.

As an organization we have made it a priority to make safe and affordable financial products accessible to all, a goal we share with Cities of Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE). Since 2019, CFE, through their BankOn program, has certified our Fresh Start Checking Account as an account that helps improve the financial stability of unbanked and underbanked individuals.
