CONSUMER LOAN MANAGER

Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Consumer Loan Manager to oversee the end-to-end loan process within our lending services team. The ideal candidate will have experience in lending, underwriting, and loan origination, with a strong knowledge of NCUA Rules and Regulations, lending compliance, and consumer lending best practices. This role involves managing loan applications, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and providing exceptional service to clients throughout the loan lifecycle. The Loan Manager will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our lending operations and supporting our clients' goals.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Oversees Lending Central functions and supervises department staff.
Evaluates information to determine whether Lending Officers have acted within guidelines of lending authority, if loans are in compliance, and if required documentation has been obtained.
Ensures lending procedures are kept current, followed, published and communicated to Lending Central staff and others.
Provides guidance on loan structuring, credit analysis, and compliance requirements.
Ensures compliance with lending policies, procedures, and regulatory standards (CFBP, NCUA or local laws). Conducts regular audits of loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Trains and mentors staff to improve performance, knowledge, and customer service while handling escalated customer inquiries or issues professionally and effectively.
Monitors queues, coaches to recorded calls, reviews reports and statistics and reports on lending calls.
Assists with special projects related to the lending function, to include coordination with other functional areas to resolve issues.
Prepares reports on loan performance, productivity, and department metrics.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
Experience
Three to five years of similar or related experience.Education
A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.Interpersonal Skills
Familiarity with lending systems such as Symitar, Meridianlink, or similar platforms.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to delivering high-quality member service in a fast paced environment.
Strong math skills including basic calculations relevant to loans and financial analysis.
Must have a proven track record of servicing loans and working knowledge of regulations affecting consumer lending.
Other Skills

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
